Business photographer in Amsterdam: corporate photography on location

Finding a photographer in Amsterdam is easy. There are hundreds. The real question is who can capture your team, office and brand so the images keep working for years on your website, Google Business Profile and LinkedIn. This page explains how we do that from our office on the Herengracht, what typical market rates look like, and why our photos also pull their weight in Google.

Business photographer in Amsterdam: the short answer

A business photographer in Amsterdam captures your team, workplace, products and events on location in the city. Viralistic does this from the Herengracht: corporate headshots, business reportage, product, event and fashion photography, planned together with your website and SEO. Typical market rates run from around €150 for a short portrait session to €1,200–€2,500 for a full day.

A corporate photographer who already works in the city

Plenty of photographers “also cover Amsterdam”. We work here. Our office sits on the Herengracht, in the middle of the canal belt. That saves travel time and call-out fees, but above all it saves guesswork: we know where the light falls well at the Zuidas, which bridge is empty at eight in the morning, and which spot at the NDSM wharf suits a brand that wants to look rougher than a boardroom.

That local knowledge sounds like a detail. Until you are standing outside with your entire management team on a Tuesday afternoon and the chosen spot turns out to be packed with tourists. Listing Amsterdam on a website is not the same as knowing the city.

A business photoshoot at your own Amsterdam location

Most assignments we simply shoot at the client’s office. We bring a mobile studio for headshots against a clean backdrop, and photograph the workplace as it really is: meetings, client contact, the details that make your company different from the one next door.

Want the city in the frame instead? Then we combine the shoot with outdoor locations: the canals for classic and established, the Zuidas for corporate, Noord for creative. We plan the route in advance, including rain alternatives, so you never lose half a session to searching and waiting.

Portraits for a large team?

For teams of ten to a hundred-plus people we set up the mobile studio once and schedule short slots per person. Everyone gets the same backdrop, lighting and retouching, including the colleague who joins next month. Read more about business headshots.

Couture from Amsterdam: Mart Visser and the Meesteropleiding Coupeur

Amsterdam is also a fashion city, and part of our portfolio lives there. Viralistic photographed couture work for Mart Visser, the Dutch couturier who has designed under his own label since 1993. We also photograph for the Meesteropleiding Coupeur, the Amsterdam academy that trains master tailors for couture and theatre ateliers.

Why this matters if you are “only” after team photos: couture is unforgiving. Every seam, every fold and every fall of light counts. A fashion photographer who works at that level photographs your management team with the same precision. More on our campaign approach under fashion photography.

What does a business photographer in Amsterdam cost?

Rates differ per photographer and per assignment. These are typical market rates in Amsterdam as you will encounter them in 2026:

FormatTypical market rates (indicative)
Hourly rate, experienced business photographer€75 – €125 per hour
Short portrait session on location€150 – €400
Half day (about 4 hours, incl. editing)€500 – €1,000
Full day (incl. selection and editing)€1,200 – €2,500

Amounts exclude VAT. Price is driven mainly by the number of people and locations, the amount of retouching, and usage rights: many photographers include a licence for a limited number of years and charge extra for unlimited commercial use. Ask about that up front. You will find a full breakdown in our article on what business photography costs.

Compare on what you get, not on the lowest price

A cheap shoot that delivers oversized files without alt text or web formats will cost you money later, in a slow website and missed visibility. Work backwards from the goal: how many pages and channels does this imagery need to fill for years to come?

Photos that also get found

This is where an agency differs from a solo photographer. A photographer delivers beautiful images and that is that. We also build websites and do SEO, so our photos arrive the way the web needs them: scaled per use, in modern formats like WebP, with descriptive file names and alt text. Your local SEO benefits directly, because a Google Business Profile with real, current photos beats one filled with stock imagery.

The same goes for AI search. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews read pages including their image context. Clean, machine-readable pages with real photos of real people give those systems something to cite.

If you plan a new site and the photography at the same time, you know in advance which page needs which image. That is how we work on a custom website in Amsterdam: photography, design and findability from one team, under the direction of a branding agency that guards the entire brand style.

How a shoot with us works

  1. Intake. We discuss goals, channels and brand style. Where does this imagery need to work?
  2. Shot list and planning. Who and what we photograph, where and when, is fixed in advance. Outdoor locations get a rain alternative.
  3. The shoot. At your office, at ours on the Herengracht, or on location in the city. Mobile studio for headshots, reportage style for the workplace.
  4. Selection. You pick favourites from an online preview.
  5. Delivery, web-ready. Edited images in the formats your site and channels need, with clear agreements on usage rights.

Frequently asked questions

What does a business photographer in Amsterdam cost per hour?

Expect roughly €75 to €125 per hour for an experienced business photographer. A half day of about four hours typically costs €500 to €1,000, and a full day €1,200 to €2,500, including selection and editing. When comparing, check what the price includes: retouching, travel time and usage rights vary widely between providers.

Can the photoshoot take place at our own office?

Yes, that is our standard approach. We bring a mobile studio for headshots against a clean backdrop and photograph the workplace in reportage style. Your team never has to leave the building, and the images show your real working environment, which is more convincing on an about page and in vacancies than a rented studio.

How quickly do we receive the photos?

After the shoot you receive an online preview to pick your favourites. We then deliver the edited selection within a few weeks, depending on the size of the assignment. If you need a few images sooner, for a press release for example, we agree on that in advance.

What is the difference between a business photographer and a corporate photographer?

In practice, none: business photographer, corporate photographer and commercial photographer describe the same trade. All these terms cover photography commissioned by an organisation, from portraits and team photos to business reportage and event coverage. So choose on portfolio, style and what the price includes, not on the label.

Do you also shoot outside Amsterdam?

Yes. Our office is on the Herengracht, but we shoot on location across the Netherlands. Within the Amsterdam region travel time is negligible; beyond it, any travel costs go into the quote up front, so there are never surprises.

Why combine photography with your website and SEO?

Because a photo only pays off once it works somewhere. Imagery planned together with your website arrives properly scaled, named and fitted with alt text. That keeps your site fast and makes you easier to find in Google and in AI search engines, without a second supplier getting involved.
