The title n8n ambassador appears on LinkedIn profiles, agency websites and conference badges. It is easy to read it as a technical certificate. It is something else: a community role, with clear expectations and real support from n8n.
This guide explains what the n8n Ambassador program is, what ambassadors actually do, what n8n asks of them and how the application works. Every program detail comes from n8n’s own pages. The examples come from close by: Marrallisa Kreijkes, founder of Viralistic, has been an official n8n Ambassador since 2025, hosts community events and spoke at In The Loop, n8n’s first conference.
What is the n8n Ambassador program?
The n8n Ambassador program is n8n’s support program for community members who organise local n8n activities. n8n announced it on its community forum in June 2024, as “our new support program for community-run n8n activities”. Ambassadors work with the n8n Community team and with each other to organise events. In return, n8n helps promote those events and gives ambassadors direct access to its team.
n8n itself is the workflow automation platform made by n8n GmbH in Berlin. If you are new to the tool, start with n8n basics in our help center.

What does an n8n ambassador do?
An n8n ambassador hosts events, connects people and represents n8n locally. n8n’s become an ambassador page describes three tasks. You run welcoming meetups and workshops for your local community, at least three a year. You bring builders together, swap tips and help newcomers feel at home. And you are the face of n8n at tech events in your region, where you give demos and share stories.
Content is part of the role too. The portal describes ambassadors as community leaders who host events, create content and grow the n8n community worldwide. n8n’s support center adds sharing your expertise and growing your personal brand. The format is largely yours. In its call for New York ambassadors, n8n put it simply: “You decide the format. You set the vibe.”
n8n helps its ambassadors get better at this. The ambassador track at Partner Day covered how to teach n8n to others, how to host a great n8n event and how to grow your community. Marrallisa showed what that looks like on stage in Berlin in October 2026. In a session hosted by Adeline Amar, Community Manager at n8n, she and fellow ambassadors Alicia Graham, Benjamin Nguyen and Cristian Livadaru talked about bringing a community together in your own city and keeping it going. Her advice: create a playful environment, plan well ahead, invite speakers people want to hear, and share the organisation with other ambassadors. You can read the full recap in our post on Marrallisa at In The Loop.
What n8n gives its ambassadors
n8n backs its ambassadors with practical support. Its own line is that your events are your own and the team simply makes them easier to run. The become an ambassador page lists six forms of support:
| Support | What you get |
|---|---|
| Dedicated onboarding | Step-by-step guidance and help planning your first meetup |
| Free swag and budget | n8n funds your events and sends goodies for your community |
| Ambassador Discord | A private space to ask questions, get advice and share wins |
| Resources | Playbooks, checklists, templates and promotion tips |
| Automations | Self-service forms for swag, budget, feedback and more |
| Global recognition | A feature on n8n’s website and invitations to exclusive events |
n8n ambassador requirements
n8n looks for people who love the product and enjoy bringing people together. Professional event experience is not required: the portal says plainly that no pro event-organiser experience is needed. According to the become an ambassador page, n8n is looking for people who:
- have used n8n for 12 months or more
- lead locally by sharing what they know and helping others learn
- have some event experience, or are keen to learn
- can host at least three activities a year
- stay engaged in the ambassador Discord and share a quick monthly update
- commit for 12 months, so the local community has time to grow
Once you are in, n8n asks a few things of you. It calls them “helpful markers on your journey, not hard rules”.
| Area | What n8n asks |
|---|---|
| Events | At least 3 events a year, roughly one every four months |
| Community | Stay active in the private ambassador Discord |
| Reports | Share a short recap after each event |
| Commitment | Aim to stay involved for at least 12 months |
| Updates | Share a monthly check-in or quick progress note |
Notice what is missing from both lists: a technical exam, a certificate or client references. The ambassador title measures community leadership and commitment. That matters, but it is a different thing from proven delivery work.
How to become an n8n ambassador
You become an n8n ambassador through a short application with four steps, as described on n8n’s portal:
- Apply. Share a bit about yourself and your city.
- Send a short intro video. It helps the team get to know your style.
- Have a quick chat. You align expectations and sketch your first event.
- Onboard and launch. You join the Discord, receive your welcome kit and host your first meetup.
Questions go to ambassadors@n8n.io. n8n’s support article on becoming an ambassador asks applicants to wait while the team connects with them, and the program is selective: not every application is accepted. Give it time. In the forum thread about the program, the community team has told applicants to expect a reply within a few weeks.
How to prepare a strong application
Some preparation makes the conversation easier. These suggestions are our own, not n8n criteria:
- Build real workflows first, so your demos come from experience.
- Check the portal to see whether your city already has an ambassador. If it does, offer to co-organise rather than compete.
- Sketch your first event before the chat: a date, a venue and one speaker people would come for.
- Plan the whole year. Three events means roughly one every four months, and good speakers book early.
Ambassador, Expert Partner or Verified Creator?
n8n runs several community and partner programs, and each title says something different. They are easy to mix up, so here they are side by side.
| n8n Ambassador | n8n Expert Partner | n8n Verified Creator | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | Community members who host local events | Agencies and system integrators that deliver automation and AI with n8n | Builders who publish workflow templates |
| What the title tells you | This person leads a local n8n community | This team delivers n8n projects for customers | This person publishes templates in n8n’s library |
| Entry | Application, intro video and a chat | Application, assessment and invitation, in a closed pilot | Verification by n8n |
| What n8n offers | Budget, swag, onboarding, Discord, recognition | Exclusive business benefits, and a network that connects businesses with partners | A badge, a directory listing and a private Discord channel |
The Expert Partner program has the strictest entry. n8n looks for teams that already implement services with n8n, offer automation and AI as core services, have at least three active n8n customers, are active community members and work across the UK, Ireland, Northern Europe or North America. The Verified Creator program is for people who publish workflow templates. Verified creators get a badge, a place in the Creators Directory and a direct connection to n8n’s product team.
What an n8n ambassador means for your business
Working with an n8n ambassador gives you a builder who is close to the n8n team and the community, and who is used to explaining automation to mixed audiences. The title alone does not prove that someone can run automations in production for your business. You want both.
An ambassador brings three things to a client. The first is a short line to n8n: ambassadors have direct access to the n8n team and are invited to exclusive events, such as the partner and ambassador day at In The Loop, so they hear early where the platform is heading. The second is teaching skill. Someone who runs workshops for strangers can usually train your team as well; Marrallisa has trained teams at Volkswagen, for example. The third is a network. When a question goes beyond one person’s experience, an ambassador knows who in the community has solved it before.
What to check, whichever partner you choose:
- Which workflows run in production for clients today, and who maintains them?
- How are errors, retries and monitoring handled?
- Where does your n8n run: on n8n Cloud, or on your own instance with managed n8n hosting in Europe?
- Who owns the workflows and credentials when the project ends?
- How are AI agents governed? Our governance approach shows what we mean.
At Viralistic, the ambassador role sits next to delivery work. Our automation service starts value-first: one use case, proven in production, then scale. Our n8n rollout describes that path step by step, and our article on workflow automation shows which processes usually come first.
How we help
Viralistic is a strategic digital partner in Amsterdam, led by Marrallisa Kreijkes, official n8n Ambassador. We help established businesses automate with n8n and Claude: workshops and team trainings, a value-first rollout, governance for AI agents and managed automations if you would rather not run them yourself. Frequently asked questions
What is an n8n ambassador?
An n8n ambassador is a community member who represents n8n in their city or region. Ambassadors host at least three meetups or workshops a year, connect local builders, help newcomers and represent n8n at tech events. n8n supports them with onboarding, an event budget, swag, a private Discord and recognition on its website.
How do I become an n8n ambassador?
Apply through n8n’s ambassador portal at ambassadors.n8n.io. The process has four steps: you share a bit about yourself and your city, send a short intro video, have a quick chat to align expectations and sketch your first event, and then onboard. Questions go to ambassadors@n8n.io. Applications are reviewed, so allow a few weeks.
What are the n8n ambassador requirements?
n8n looks for people who have used n8n for 12 months or more, lead locally by sharing knowledge, have some event experience or want to learn, can host at least three activities a year, stay engaged with a monthly update and commit for 12 months. No professional event experience is needed, and there is no technical exam.
Is an n8n ambassador the same as an n8n Expert Partner?
No. An ambassador leads a local community and hosts events. An Expert Partner is an agency or system integrator that delivers n8n projects for customers, admitted through a separate, closed pilot with requirements such as at least three active n8n customers. One person can hold both roles, but each title says something different.
Where can I find the list of n8n ambassadors?
n8n’s ambassador portal at ambassadors.n8n.io has a section to meet the ambassadors and see their events. There is also n8n Pulse, a community-built directory by Guido X Jansen that maps ambassadors by location and join date, which n8n itself shared on X in February 2026.
